TipsterTrack ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our portfolio tracking application.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account Information: Email address and password (encrypted) when you create an account.
  • Portfolio Data: Stock positions, trades, tipster tags, and related financial data you enter into the application.
  • Settings: Your preferences, including your Finnhub API key (stored encrypted) and display preferences.
  • Usage Data: Basic analytics about how you use the application to improve our service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the TipsterTrack service
  • Store and display your portfolio data
  • Fetch live stock prices using your Finnhub API key
  • Improve and optimize the application
  • Communicate with you about service updates

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a trusted cloud database provider. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Your password is hashed and your API key is stored encrypted.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Supabase: For authentication and database storage
  • Finnhub: For live stock price data (using your own API key)
  • Vercel: For application hosting

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use essential cookies and local storage for authentication and maintaining your session. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. The only data stored locally is your session token and basic preferences for application functionality.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access: You can request a copy of your data at any time.
  • Rectification: You can update your data through the application settings.
  • Erasure: You can delete all your data using the "Clear All Data" feature in Settings, or request complete account deletion.
  • Portability: You can export your data (feature coming soon).
  • Objection: You can object to data processing by discontinuing use of the service.

8. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your data at any time through the Settings panel. Upon account deletion, all your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

TipsterTrack is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
